Adoption Center Closed to Public
After trying out adoptions by appointment, we have come to the conclusion that Woodford Humane needs to remain closed to the public for the immediate future. This decision is not made lightly, but in order to continue to care for the animals that rely on us we must do everything we can to keep our staff healthy. Unfortunately, even with limited admittance and rules in place, too many visitors have been non-compliant with our requests to prepare in advance for their visit and to practice social distancing while in the Adoption Center.
If we can’t do this safely, we can’t do it at all – for the sake of the animals who need us here to care for them for however long this thing lasts. We will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so. Please read our full Covid-19 Response Plan to find out how you can help.
We’ve Gone VIRTUAL!
Avoid crowds, get outside for a walk, and help homeless pets all at the same time. This year’s Woodford Wag is now a virtual event: register online as you normally would, and then walk on your own anywhere, anytime up through our original date of May 16. We need your help to raise the $15,000 the Wag would normally bring in! Read more | Join the Facebook event
We Need Your Help
The Adoption Center is closed, but pets are still coming in and they still need care. Our major fundraising events are uncertain, and donations have already slowed almost to a halt. Please don’t forget about us; we’re still here, we’re still working, and we still rely 100% on private donations to operate. Your gift means more now than ever before.
Give For Free with Kroger Community Rewards
Take a moment and register your Kroger Plus Card in the Community Rewards program. It costs you nothing: Kroger simply donates every time you use your Plus Card. Little donations from a lot of shoppers add up to a big source of support for Woodford Humane. Sign Up Online or call 800-KROGERS to register.
Apart Together: Sponsor A Pet
Our pets can’t go home right now, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make friends. Help us help our pets during this difficult time with our new Apart Together pet sponsorship program. When you make a $100 donation toward the care of the adoptable pet of your choice, we’ll say thank you with recognition on that pet’s online profile and on our social media outlets, as well as in our quarterly Paw Prints newsletter. Each month we’ll start fresh with new sponsorships. As a bonus, your sponsorship gift qualifies for the SAVE Matching Fund – so it’ll go twice as far when we need it most.
Pet Wish List
We know a lot of supplies are scarce right now, but if you have items you would like to donate, we are grateful to accept them! To reduce person-to-person contact, please drop off donated items in the bins on the sidewalk in front of the Receiving Center. Our Wish List
