The racing puppies for the Kenpuppy Derby have to be held at Woodford Humane for 6-8 weeks to ensure they are healthy and have had at least two rounds of vaccinations before Derby Day. We have been so overfull with dogs and puppies this year that we have not had space to put anyone on hold for that length of time; when we are at 129% capacity in the kennel and have a list of dogs waiting to come in, we can’t in good conscience have a dozen puppies filling kennels for up to 2 months. Those kennels are desperately needed.
