Orientation.
Why
Volunteer?
Volunteers
have many different
reasons for helping, from simply
wanting contact with
animals and meeting
new people, to
learning new skills
before committing to
a new career in
animal welfare. We
could never
accomplish all that
we do for our
animals without our
beloved volunteers.
There
is a minimum age
requirement of 14
years for all
volunteers, and
anyone under the age
of 18 must be
accompanied by a
parent or guardian. Some
positions have a time
commitment of six or more
months.
How
to Become a WHS
Volunteer
1.
Fill out a Volunteer
Application and Waiver,
and review our Policies.
2.
Attend a Volunteer
Orientation and bring
your Volunteer
Application and
signed Waiver
with
you.
3.
Once accepted into the
program, speak with the
Community Outreach
Director to determine
the best route for
beginning your volunteer
work. Some volunteer
opportunities are
seasonal, some require
additional training and
some may be filled to
capacity.
